Garvey Tee

Marcus Garvey was one of the most influential Black leaders of the 20th century. Born in Jamaica in 1887, he became a powerful advocate for Black pride, economic independence, and unity among people of African descent worldwide. He founded the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA), which grew to millions of members globally, spreading messages of self-reliance and racial uplift.

One of his most ambitious projects was the Black Star Line, a shipping company he established in 1919. Garvey envisioned it as a way for Black people to engage in global trade and, eventually, to facilitate the repatriation of Black people to Africa. The Black Star Line was more than a shipping company—it was a symbol of Black economic power, self-determination, and liberation from the oppressive systems of the West.
