Made in Amerikkka

If you wear this and someone says, “That bothers me,” or “This disturbs me,” tell them:

“This is a metaphor for how I felt growing up in this country. And just like you can’t change my shirt, there were times when I felt powerless to change this country and make it better. They killed our heroes, forced some into exile, and brainwashed the public into believing we create our own problems.”

What’s even wilder is that they’ve stopped hiding it. The FBI and CIA have released files proving they were tracking, undermining, and silencing Black leaders, artists, and athletes—anyone who showed power or resistance. The FBI’s COINTELPRO program explicitly aimed to “discredit, disrupt, and destroy” Black movements. They spied on Aretha Franklin for years, fearing her influence in the civil rights movement. Even Ernest Withers, the photographer who captured some of our most powerful moments, was later revealed to be an FBI informant.

So if my shirt makes them uncomfortable? Good. That’s the point. It’s just a small taste of what it feels like to exist in Amerikkka.
